Let's rid the World of Internet Explorer 6

Which web browser are you using to read this page? Even though Microsoft replaced Internet Explorer 6.0 (IE6) over two years ago, there are a significant number of people who are still using what is generally regarded as a seriously flawed product. Here's why you should help rid the World of IE6 . . . . . !

PC World Magazine lists IE6 at number eight in its list of 25 Worst Tech Products of all Time and with good reason. Security remains an issue with this browser and uneccesarily adds risk to using the internet. IE6 is slow - much slower than up to date browsers. It doesn't support new functionality which means you may not see websites as they are supposed to appear, and to cap it all, IE6 doesn't comply with web design standards which means web designers have to make special "fixes" to make their pages work properly.

So if you are one of the people who are still using IE6 now is the time to upgrade. Better choices are Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3, Google Chrome or Safari 3.2.

How do you know which version of Internet Explorer you are using? Go to "Help" on the top menu then "About Internet Explorer" and it's there. To upgrade visit the homepage for the browser of your choice and follow the download and installation instructions.
